About the Brand
Set in beautiful countryside, 15 kilometres from the famous wine districts of St Emilion and Pomerol, Château Méaume represents a striking example of how ancient tradition and modern technology can combine in the making of a magnificent wine.
The property has been well known in France for many centuries and was once the country residence of Louis XIV's bodyguard - the Chevalier de la Croix Maron, whose wine-making family are credited as having invented the process of making cognac brandy.
Today, the owners of the property, Alan and Sue Johnson-Hill, are an English couple who gave up business life in Hong Kong to make Château Méaume their home.
